On The Photographer

Tuomas is a Finnish photographer who specializes in photographing human built environments. His photography work includes assignments and projects in architectural, interior and documentary photography. Tuomas has studied architecture and photography at RISD and Helsinki University of Technology. He has worked over 10 years as an architect and a photographer in Finland and China. His photographs have been exhibited and published in newspapers and magazines in print as well as online.

"Thru my photography I am trying to observe and understand the human built environments in relation to their erectors and inhabitants. Life span of buildings outlasts that of their creators. They remain standing even if the very reason of their existence or the original function has disappeared. Buildings carry their past with them, I want to photograph their memories."
